At Nikao Church, our purpose is simple - PEOPLE

Our desire and mission is to help people know God and live out His heart.

Our Purpose

We believe that Jesus Christ came so that people would experience life and have life to the full. We believe that the power of God and His kingdom is not supposed to be something experienced solely in church, but in every area of our lives. As a believer, you don’t have to be overcome by life, but can overcome in life through Christ and ultimately experience victory.

You were not born to just survive but destined to win as you discover what can happen when WE truly becomes greater than me!

Our Pastor

Brian Duley is the Senior Pastor of Nikao Church, a young, vibrant and life-giving church in the Charlotte area. In late 2014, he and his wife, Tamika, along with 12 faithful individuals began having launch team meetings in the basement of their home. On March 15, 2015, Nikao Church held its first public service. Since that time, over thousands people have made commitments to Christ and over 2,000 people worship together each week.

Pastor Brian holds a business degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a degree from Rhema Bible Training College with a concentration in pastoral ministry. He has a passion to see people transformed by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit; people who are reaching their God-given potential and walking in their God-designed life.

Known for his innovative approach and never-a-dull-moment services, Pastor Brian believes in developing creative and cutting-edge ways to reach people for the cause of Christ. He is a firm believer that we must be willing to achieve our mission by any godly means necessary!

Together with his beautiful wife of 18 years, Tamika, three daughters: Miranda, Kailyn, and Gabrielle, and son, Brian II, Pastor Brian is excited to continue witnessing the incredible things God is doing in and through the lives of those in Charlotte, NC as WE becomes greater than me.

CONNECT WITH PASTOR BRIAN

Our Story

Eight years ago, Nikao Church began with 12 people gathering in the basement of Pastor Brian Duley’s home. Small but mighty, this group dared to serve a city by creating a church that would be dedicated to helping people know God and live out His heart, which we believe is WE >me.

From that first meeting, the launch team quickly outgrew the basement and began meeting at the Hilton University Hotel in January 2015. Through a series of leadership trainings and growth in God’s Word, 68 members prepared for public service and the official launch of Nikao Church. On March 15, 2015, Nikao held its first public Sunday worship service at Zebulon B. Vance High School (currently Chambers High School) in Charlotte, NC. Nikao grew to over 1,000 people worshiping together weekly and over 1,200 people who have made life-changing commitments to Jesus.

Prior to the pandemic in March 2020, we moved locations to the Oasis building in the University area in Charlotte, NC. Throughout the pandemic we continued service online via our YouTube channel and Facebook live. As the pandemic progressed and things went back to normal, Nikao grew from 1,000 people to reaching over 2,000 people weekly online and in-person.

In October of 2023 we launched our Nikao South Campus, which is a recently purchased 40-acre campus on the south side of the city with an renovated building housing classrooms, offices, and auditorium with seating of up to 1250 guests, as well additional buildings.  One, we are extremely excited about is what will become our Next Generation Facility serving kids and youth across our city.

In addition, we continue to hear and witness stories of lives transformed, people healed, faith revived, families restored, and trust in “church” regained by the power of God. We stand on the principle that God will do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. With more people coming to know God and live out His heart, we believe our city will be transformed, and the Kingdom of God will be outside the walls of church.

Nikao’s 2024 Theme

OVERFLOW

Every year we pray and fast on what our theme of the year will be. This year is the year of OVERFLOW! This is the year that God is raising up the body of Christ to stand up in a world that looks dry and like it has nothing to offer. But, believers will experience OVERFLOW, and OVERFLOW is not just for us, but for others. We invite you to experience overflow through our next steps classes each week.

THEME VERSE: PSALM 23:1-6 | PSALM 65:11
